Full Circles by Sarah Klein Artist reception Nov 2nd 4-6pm at New Classic. On view November 2-30th. Exploring the medium of glass has deepened my interest in materialprocesses. I approach glassware much like screen printing, first usingstenciled silkscreens to produce designs and then sifting powdered glassthrough the screen. The work is kiln-fired and built-up gradually withadditional layers of powered glass. Each piece undergoes multiple firings, typically between three and eight. With each firing, the image becomesmore elaborate, demonstrating the medium’s capacity for both precisionand unpredictability. Chemical reactions would sometimes introducesubtle, organic variations. The final form is never exactly what I anticipate, but once cooled, it is permanently fixed, like a moment crystallized in time.I’m drawn to the idea that beauty can emerge from loss. To transcend isn’talways easy, or possible, but the effort often brings clarity. Glass mayappear delicate, yet it is also strong and resilient—qualities I see reflectedin life itself. These paradoxes inspire my work, inviting me to find strengthand hope even in moments of fragility.
